Christmas dinner
My favourite when it comes to the Christmas dinner (which in Poland is actually eaten of the 24th) is my aunt's carp with mushroom sauce There was also cabbage, potatoes, beetroot soup (which I always deny), and poppyseed dumplings. Oh my goodness Maria; I'm so glad Brian is okay!!
As planned, we did have tostadas yesterday- but we also had pork tamales, lumpias and pancit. Yummy!

My dad long remembered going to his grandparents' house for this sort of late Christmas Eve dinner when he was a boy. (His grandparents were Polish immigrants to the US). By my generation, the Wigilia custom had faded from practice, but I remember that my grandmother still did wonderfully piquant and tasty things with cabbage and beets, although usually for New Year's.Piotrek81 wrote: βDecember 26th, 2019, 11:33 am My favourite when it comes to the Christmas dinner (which in Poland is actually eaten of the 24th) is my aunt's carp with mushroom sauce There was also cabbage, potatoes, beetroot soup (which I always deny), and poppyseed dumplings.
