Annoying words
A lot of people hate the word "moist", but I honestly don't know why. I think it's the "moi" sound. Not sure though. I really dislike the word "crisps"... that one just bother's me. I dunno, I guess it's just the end of the word mostly, just the sps. Just "crisp", is fine, but the added s makes it sound like your whispering, and the work itself takes longer than it should to say.

I'm currently annoyed with benign, benignly, and benignness. The author of my solo having used them over half a dozen times. Not that I hate saying it, just thought he could have possibly found some other descriptive synonym to use. But by the time you've finished writing a really long book, you might not realize you've used it that much.
Sometimes easy words trip me up if I start to think about them too much. Like "asked" or whether or not I'm pronouncing "t" and "d" in certain words.

Yes, "asked" is annoying!
"Fairly" kind of annoys me- it's nice if you use it once or twice in a book, but every other sentence is just plain annoying.

I'm pretty picky with pronunciation (ack, tongue twister! ) so I like to leave the t in. "Off-ten."KevinS wrote: βJune 4th, 2019, 12:04 pmI offin ignore the 't.'lymiewithpurpose wrote: βJune 4th, 2019, 12:01 pm 'Often' gets me every time! Don't quite know what to do with the t.

This is a peculiar topic.
As I read these posts, I find that they are peculiarly odd.
I have my own peculiarly hated words, but I shall not opine.
Ponderous why I am peculiarly peeved presently.

"Peck-yoo-lee-arh-ly." (OK, I'm pretty sure that's how you say it.)

This word trips me up EVERY ... SINGLE ... TIME I come across it. Usually takes me about 6 or 8 tries before I get it right.JayKitty76 wrote: βJune 6th, 2019, 4:46 pmI used to be able to, but then after reading that you couldn't, I couldn't either!!
