mp3 player recommendations

Everything except LibriVox (yes, this is where knitting gets discussed. Now includes non-LV Volunteers Wanted projects)

My Creative Nano (TM) bit the dust.
It had this wonderful play mode that stopped after each file (chapter) and eventually went to sleep unless I nudged it on to the next chapter.
Because ... I fall asleep too.
With regular continuous play mode I find myself waking up hours later totally lost . Scanning back through the chapters / files I have to wallow through the !@#*# preamble every time before I get a hint of where in the story I was.
Do you know of any current cheap mp3 player that does "play one track and stop" mode?
THanks for any suggestions

I've got a GoGear Vibe, and while it doesn't stop after each track, it has a sleep timer, which you can set from anywhere between 1 and 99 minutes, after which the player will turn itself off. I make extensive use of this feature when listening in bed.
So little space, so much to say.
