The Bible in Limericks! (Cheeky plug!)

Hallo! One of the reasons I haven't been around here much recently is because I've been working on my new book, The Bible in Limericks: Each Chapter in Verse. (On amazon UK and US.)

Read and enjoy the entire Bible in one sitting! Find out for yourself what's in it without ploughing through the whole text, and maybe have a laugh along the way.

These limericks gaily rehearse
The Bible, one chapter per verse.
If it seems to you wrong
To read scripture so long,
The original version's much worse!

They may serve as a studying aid,
In which all of the saga's surveyed;
An index of sorts,
One that fairly reports,
Though light-hearted, the whole cavalcade.

Still looking for reasons to try it?
Scripture's hard, but these lines clarify it.
It's chucklesome too,
So what would Jesus do?
He'd click Add to basket and buy it!
Just mentioning in case it's of interest to anyone... :P

On Predestination.

"There was a young man who said, "Damn!
It now appears that I am,
Just a being who moves
In predestinate grooves,
Not a car nor a bus, but a tram.""

O mighty prophet Jason, who translates the word of God into concise poetry, what is the reading you have for Easter Sunday/Monday? Or do I have to buy the book to discover that?

Here's the relevant chapters from Luke. (Stresses coloured for easy reading!)
22
Jude is Satan's! Meanwhile, in an upper
Room, Jeez broke bread, his last supper.
Jude's kiss his fate sealed.
Ear smitten was healed.
Cried the scribes, "This Christ's own words him scupper!"

23
Pilate shrugged. "Well, folks, I'm at a loss!"
Herod sniggered, while Simon got cross.
Paradise for one thief,
Then Jeez died, and in grief
Jo him wrapped and entombed, soon as poss.

24
Three maids found the sepulchre bare!
"He is risen," explained a bright pair.
His gang were unsure
But Jeez talked on their tour,
Broke bread and rose into the air!

And now, two years later, for those who enjoy something a tad more refined than a limerick:

People of the Book: Sonnets in the Christian Mythos

Broadly speaking, each sonnet gives voice to a lesser-known character in the Bible. :D
