Calling all drivers with mobile phones
I was prompted to reply to a post in the 'things I'll never understand' thread.
But it occurred to me that this is a really important message,
so have taken the liberty of posting here in the hope that you will read/watch/pass it on, please:
This is a stark warning:

I drive over a mountain to an airport every morning and back over it every evening. I've been doing it every day for nearly five years. I'm still waiting for that magical day where the starts align and the heavens part and I don't see someone talking on their cell phone during my drive.
Sad and scary.
Sad and scary.
Why yes there IS a blog about choral singing. Thanks for asking.

A new one for me today.
On a 4-lane road, traffic moving at 50 mph or so, a driver in an open-sided jeep evidently really needed to talk someone as he had the phone held up in one ear, his index finger in the other ear and was steering with his elbows. In a vehicle without power steering, no less.
Wow,

If somebody receives an e-mail with that video link while behind the wheel, and starts watching it while driving, and then gets into an accident because of that, would you call it "irony" or "disservice" or ... ?

Idiocy.
An old anecdote came to mind... So this driver is driving on a mountain road. After one turn he sees a billboard on the side of the mountain and starts trying to read it. It says something like "Driver!...", He's distracted, loses control and crashes into a ravine before seeing the rest. He survives. After three months in a hospital and a rehab facility, he decides to take a bus that goes on the same road and to find out what exactly is written on that billboard. When they reach the same spot, he reads "Driver! Pay attention to the road!" (a rimshot)
