Librivox Meeting?

Everything except LibriVox (yes, this is where knitting gets discussed. Now includes non-LV Volunteers Wanted projects)

Hello everyone!

I just thought about meeting the Librivox volunteers - but that would be crazy for my opinion.

How about your thoughts?

Just asking! :D

I'm not sure what you mean, do you mean a global meeting of LV volunteers in one place, or something else?

OK. I think this is a good idea. Where would it be hosted?

Though it sounds like a great idea, it is pretty much impractical due to all of us being spread all over the globe. Maybe some people might want to try to set up some regional meetings that more local people could attend. Get them lined up just right and you might be able to Skype the other groups, etc.

I have had the good fortune of meeting a number of other LVers and hope to meet a few more when I have time to travel. :D

Regional meetings are good :D

Here's how one group fared ... not sure if it'll inspire or strike fear :D viewtopic.php?t=4900 Gosh, 7 years ago. Time it doth fly!

That would be great, but I think there would be not much LVers who live in Korea :(

I have to ask that, right?

Jessie, I think you're the only one from Korea at the moment. (Isn't it great to be unique?)
There are two, possibly three readers from Japan, which is not that far away, but it doesn't make for a fun big meeting, only for a fun small meeting...

I think it's getting very difficult if people have to travel by plane...
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to meet Librivoxers in real life (and I have met a couple), but for the nice global meeting of all of us, we'll probably have to wait until somebody finally figures out how to beam people around
Cheers, Ava.

While an off-line global meeting would be close-to-impossible to arrange without some good funding, we could organize a Skype meeting. I know it's possible to set up a dedicated Skype channel- there's one for a forum where I'm a member.

It's good to be organizing the online global meeting - but some are at midnight or so, but that doesn't care, right? :)

Would it be possible to do regional LibriVox clubs, instead of a global meeting?

Sure, Kangaroo ... it'd be best to open a new thread, titled with the region you'd be interested in organising for ... and see who's around.

Jessie, how about this: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingtime.html?iso=20150307&p1=136&p2=235&p3=262 I just picked three people-places out of the thread at random, but that site allows for all kinds of variations :)
