Blue skies, blue water ...
Clouds and swans,
Swimming, swimming.
Summer skies, bright water ...
Swans and clouds,
Drifting, drifting.
[Sorry, I realised later that the haiku should have been following on from the previous ones. Chaining; Basho liked doing that, too.]
Here you go, following the chain:
Napkins for grease
and hiding the gristle.
Junk food and sport ...
thorns on the thistle.

Chorus ends up flat
After starting right on pitch
Altos are to blame
With apologies to any altos out there--it's a hard part!

I love haiku! I've written a lot of them, and apparently my favourite topics are rain and fall and complaining about things. Here are a few...
***
Gleaming silver orb
Torchlight of another sphere
Skeletal branches
Faintly singing frogs
Heralding that fall is here
Silhouette mountains
***
Wily grand oak trees
Think rain on roof too quiet
Toss acorn grenades
***
OAT RAISIN COOKIE!!!!
Ends up being chocolate chip.
I am disappoint.
***
Trick'ling dripping drops
Heralds of Oregon fall
Curled up warm in bed
***
Eyes burning stinging
Nose unhappy itching stuffed
Vile cottonwood fluff
***
Early morning rain
Misty dimness soft and blue
Spatters and whispers

Flying to Vermont
Seems like it takes forever
Red-eye is well named
(Especially when you live in Hawaii)

Something silly, based on real events:
Time to edit. Joy!
Tea, earbuds. But wait! Outside:
Man with leafblower.
