I don't know - possibly just chance, but it seems like it was a substantial increase, although I cannot recall what the previous number was. :hmm:

Previous record seems to have been 292 on Tue Jun 07, 2011.
I remembered a thread about it: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=41039
A substantial increase indeed!

Odd. I wonder if anyone noticed how many were registered and how many were guests.

I always have an LV tab open. So if they're like me, it could be 456 people who aren't even awake, let alone recording, ho ho! :P

Very curious times, though. 11.21 pm Pacific Coast time - the middle of the night in most of America, early morning in Europe. It would be so interesting to know where they all were - China?

I thought now that we are part of archive, Chinese people cannot access LV any more? (They never could download our files from archive, so...)

Well, it can't all be me

Ava,

I recently traveled to China and I could see the home page at www.librivox.org, use the catalog search function and access the forums and magic windows. I could not access anything hosted on Archive which means the covers didn't show up on search results and I could not download files for cataloged books. I was also unable to access the uploader.

So, the previous record was in the middle of the night, the new record on Christmas. Librivoxers have strange online habits.....
