So, as I am an avid fan of both the Hobbit as a work of literature, a student of filmmaking, and accordingly a fan of Peter Jackson's vision of Middle Earth, I thought I would open up a venue for the discussion of the upcoming release of the Hobbit, perspectives, parallels and personal points (alliteration! :D) in regards to the Hobbit as a written text and now as a visionary (though somewhat divergent) film production. Feel free to post anecdotes about the film as more info is released, opinions, and general nerdness (of course, please be cordial with you thoughts. I believe healthy debate is very good thing, but please keep comments respectful). Now give me your thoughts!

I love the movies and the book! :D Tauriel is amazing, even though she technically isn't real...I liked the second movie better than the first one, although I was sick and had a bad fever during the first one, so that may have clouded my judgement...

True! Which means, even if she dies in the last movie (as I'm afraid she might) she shall live on forever in these forums!
