I do but I am sloooow because I like knitting better. :) I've been working on an old-fashioned map of the world for about three years.

Maybe that's because you use way too many colours :)
I usually do pieces that only have 15 colours or less :D

Hi, Sarah! Yes, I'm on Ravelry, too. I'm probably ZaftigKRE there too. It's a great nickname, because no one else in the world uses it!

This thread hasn't been posted in for a while, but I thought I'd revive it since I just started knitting :D I think I have the hang of it now, but I did manage to do it upside down before I did get the hang of it. :P

That sounds a lot more clever than doing it the right way up. :?

For all the yarn hoarders out there ;)
That's me except it's missing the box marked "Multi-coloured scarves one day" for all the little leftovers that won't make a project on their own.

I love needle-arts!
I knit, crochet, and cross-stitch.
I'd love to do more complicated projects such as clothes, but it's so warm
here, so I'm stuck with bags and cases for cell-phones, doilies, wallets, etc.

Oh, this made me wonder whether tattooing would be considered needle-art!

I've crochetted a two-piece bathing suit for summer use. Fun! :D

Can you actually use it for swimming? yarn tends to behave strangely when wet... :)

Definitely not athletic swimming
I haven't used it inside water, just on the beach Image . It's cotton though, and I've used cotton clothing inside water, so I hope it won't be too different if I do happen to get wet in it!!

It might work if I use really tight stitches
I'll give it a shot, though I don't have the guts to wear a two-piece anything.
It could be a good gift idea, yeah?

Hello knitters, :help:

I am reading and recording
The Ladies Book of Etiquette by Florence Hartley
In chapter 21 towards the end, because of the long chapter it has been renamed chapter 23 Accomplishments Part 3, I do not know how to say the letter x which appears several times in the knitting patterns.
14th row—Knit ten; × make one and knit two together × repeat until six remain; knit three; make one; knit three.

15th row—Knit six; × make one and knit two together × repeat until ten remain, which knit.
Can somebody help me with this?
