I downloaded a couple of the MP3s for songs which I happen to own (the Ghost in the Shell OSTs) ... to be clear, they are samples, not the entire song.

robinel, thanks for your PM, as I hadn't downloaded any files and didn't know they weren't the full recording. However, and this is just my opinion, it might still be better to link to the artist's websites or to official sites with clips licenced. Record labels are astonishingly touchy about samples of music being used just about anywhere that isn't directly making money for them.

Also, again just my perspective, but this is a particularly sensitive area for LibriVox generally, since we ARE creating sound files of our own which in some cases will compete with commercially-available recordings. We work ENTIRELY in the public domain and we try very hard to stay completely and plainly legal. I appreciate you wanting to share some very beautiful voices, but really would be more comfortable with you linking indirectly (via the venues you mentioned in your PM / above.)

Since I'm a music fan, I hereby make an attempt at resurrecting this thread

My musical preferences are quite well summarised HERE Incidentally, does anyone of you have a last.fm account? It's the only social network I have stuck to since the day when I registered there in the early 2007. Very useful when you want to find new artists similar to the ones you alreeady like.
