gypsygirl wrote:By the way, when I moved the blooper files over to the new folder, I only grabbed the ones that had "blooper" or something similar in the filename, so if you'd previously posted a blooper that didn't identify itself as one in the filename, and you would like it in the list on the first post, please re-upload it to the blooper folder with "blooper" as part of the filename and post in the thread.

ETA: And please be sure to use the new "bloopers" folder.
I re-uploaded this one: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/bloopers/huitzilopochtli_blooper.mp3

I spotted a few more still in the xx folder (some with 'blooper' in the title that must have been missed, and three without that I happened to recognise as bloopers) - have shifted them and updated the list in the first post.

I keep meaning to save mine; I had a great one just now recording Chapter 2 of The Turmoil. I could not pronounce the name of the "hero"'s son, Roscoe. It kept coming out "Roskoy" --- three times this happened. Arrggh! The fourth one made the cut though. ;)

Of course you can listen to me stumbling all through Alice Adams on Archive. I have since started to edit it down though, chapter by chapter, wincing all the way. Maybe I can post it here as a solo project, but isn't someone else doing it for LibriVox?

"Proud, luxurious, and selfish" is very hard to say.

What makes that even funnier to me is the ambiguity of the slaps there.
Don't be too hard on yourself, it's only a blooper.

Finally editing ch 1 of Nostromo by Joseph Conrad, which I recorded ages ago, and found this - took me about a minute and a half to pronounce 'Golfo Placido' correctly!

I did a one-act play by Somerset Maugham and found that going from man to woman is kind of tricky:

Then there's also the problem of the Homer Simpson (or Eudora Welty for the Simpsons' in-joke crowd) Effect:

"Selwyn's shoulders shrugged slightly" is more or less like "She sells sea-shells on the sea-shore" :|
