re: Carl's letter:
Excellent idea!
My recordings will probably never make it there but it's worth a try.
Have you already sent it, Carl?

Anyone can read accurately. I read with great expression.
Why is everyone getting so uppity about this?
Last time I remember someone (someaudioguy http://forum.librivox.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=26911 ) complaining on the forums that their recordings were being sold on Amazon, everyone jumped on him saying "It's PD get over it!".
This Cherry Hill just looks to me like a small outfit trying to make their catalogue seem a bit fatter.
So why is this one any different?
regards
Phil

I did not jump on him:

I think this one is different because they allude a partnership that does not exist, I don't think anyone sees it as a problem that they do use the recordings....

LOL Good one

Jumping in a bit late in the game, I'd just like to point out that what I find so horrible is not the fact that they're selling a public domain recording, but rather, that they are mis-attributing it.
I think that stripping the disclaimer and removing all references to LibriVox and sticking their brand on the audio is dishonest, as it implies that they have produced the recording. In this case I think Ruth and any other narrator concerned would legitimately be annoyed.

Put yourself in the Readers' Accents Table. See this post.

I don't mind... Being set to music is quite fun, and gives the thing a different tone. They do make it clear at the top of the page where the recordings come from etc.
Here's a seller on Amazon selling LV titles but I don't see anywhere
where LV is mentioned.

Should post a 'review' telling people where to get the titles for FREE.Claire wrote:Here's a seller on Amazon selling LV titles but I don't see anywhere

Like this, you mean?
Bet they won't publish it.This was recorded by Ruth Golding for librivox.org and is available free, gratis and for nothing at that site - as 80,000 people have already discovered.

If you read the reviews, someone actually found out it was available online for free...
