Snake Keepers!

We're all a bunch of highly literate people here so there must be more than one or two here who keep them, or some sort of reptile and/or amphibian!

Myself, I sport a year-old Children's Python by the name 'Sausage'! I'm aiming to expand into a Ball Python in a month or two as well. Anyone else keep some fine slithery friends as pets, and do you have photographs to make other reptile enthusiasts go 'awww!' and the squeamish go 'eeek!' :D

My snakes are all in the wild, including a black one ('Blackie") whose family has been regenerating in my yard for many moons. The most recent version was skulking behind the potted tropicals in one corner of my pool-patio a couple of weeks ago. It's fun watching him try to slither up the screen and failing miserably.

I love rats! :D I used to have a few years ago before I moved out to Alberta... where theya re illegal. Squid the Avenger, a sweet lil tawny. 8-)

It's strange I know, but I like rats and snakes equally... despite the tendency of one to eat the other.

Not any more!

I used to have a 6ft boa constrictor and an 8ft reticulated python.

When I advertised the python for sale, I got an invite to the local TV station to appear with my snakes on a local news programme.

The snakes finally went to Knaresborough zoo (now closed) and I became friends with Adrian 'Nick' Nyoka who owned the zoo. His zoo was famous for Cassius the largest snake iin captivity at that time.

We have a toad. At least, he's ours until he crosses the property line.
