Everything except LibriVox (yes, this is where knitting gets discussed. Now includes non-LV Volunteers Wanted projects)

Came across an interesting site called "Library Thing" where you catalogue your books online. Anyone know anything about it?

I've not used that one.... I prefer to keep track of my books at http://bookcrossing.com ... serves additional purposes for me =)

Man I'm not nearly organized enough to keep track of my books. Although, I'm reading more for Librivox lately than normal reading.

Plus we have several hundred books...that would be a ridiculous amount of time to catalog!

Be thankful, kri... Before we lost most of them to a storm about ten years ago, we had over 8,000 books at the house. We had more than our kids' school library!

Oh my goodness that's painful.

I suppose one way you could do it if you wanted is to read the bar code on the book. That would give you the basic information, and then you could tie that in with Library of Congress cataloging or some other. When we ran our ill-fated bookstore, that's what we did.

So sorry about your loss of books, ChipDoc. I winced when I read that one.

Sure! and I have the same username as well.
Managed to enter only one of many bookcases (and crates).
Still in the process of cataloguing it.
