I'm looking for any old radio broadcasts of Doctor Who. It has to be free, of course. If any one can direct me to a website...??
Thank you in advance

Try doing a search at archive.org. They have other old radio shows there - X-Minus-1, Mindwebs, Dark Fantasy - maybe they have Doctor Who.Hazel Pethig wrote:I'm looking for any old radio broadcasts of Doctor Who. It has to be free, of course. If any one can direct me to a website...??

I know it's terrible, but I had no idea Dr Who was done on the radio ... I thought it was always just TV. If you find a link, Hazel, could you post it here too..?
There's honestly no such thing as a stupid question -- but I'm afraid I can't rule out giving a stupid answer : : To Posterity and Beyond!

It's not "old" Doctor Who but a more modern production, review and link here...

Like Cori, I wasn't aware that 'old' Dr Who? was ever on the radio at all. There have been some newly written episodes starring Paul McGann broadcast on BBC7 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio7/ in 2007 and 2008 (series list here), but it's not currently on air. When it is, each episode is available for free online listening (but I think not download) for 7 days after broadcast in the UK, but I don't know whether you'd be able to get them in the US or elsewhere.

The BBC are buggers about that... I can't watch any previews, interviews etc about the new Doctor Who series since I am in Canada. They seem to know my ip address and block it all.russiandoll wrote: but I don't know whether you'd be able to get them in the US or elsewhere.

Yeh. And they need the money from programme sales to overseas broadcasters too, so you can't let any old Johnny Foreigner watch it for free on Our Internet . (Though if Johnny Foreigner - or Esther Foreigner - got to see the previews at least, she could get even more excited about it and write urgent letters to Canadian TV companies telling them how much she wanted to see the series, and they might pay more for it...)
It is getting harder and harder, though, to see any good reason to own a TV and pay the licence fee when you can access all BBC radio and most TV shows - if you can wait till an hour or two after broadcast - without it. I'm not sure they've thought that through properly.

Doctor Who?
Anyone can read accurately. I read with great expression.
Here in Canada, I can d/l the newest Doctor Who episode usually in 12 to 24 hours after it airs in the UK.russiandoll wrote: It is getting harder and harder, though, to see any good reason to own a TV and pay the licence fee when you can access all BBC radio and most TV shows - if you can wait till an hour or two after broadcast - without it. Seriously I wouldn't put it past them. The TV as it is now is doomed anyway, in a few years we'll be doing away with them and everything media will be internet delivered.annise wrote:Maybe they are planning to have an internet licence fee too
