I was wondering if it would be possible in the PL view of the reader sections to link the mp3 directly to the section number so that it's really easy to download all the sections that need PLing across multiple projects in one easy move. It seems like (from the MW at least) that info is linked in the database in such a way that it wouldn't be too difficult to do.
So under the "READY FOR PL" column, each section number (eg: "7, 10, 13, 14") would be a link to the associated mp3 (a bit like how the "Title" column links to the forum thread.

I think it would be not possible without some large software changes - the catalogue pages are largely based on the database (the forum project page is in the database, the MC adds it when they are setting up the MW) but the file links in the MW are rather fluid.

Either of them actually! Just a single place where one could download all outstanding PL without having to go to each thread.TriciaG wrote: ↑February 21st, 2021, 6:42 am Which one?

I always check the recording length listed in the MW as I download. I found that I forgot to do that check if I waited until later. There is sometimes information in the MW that is relevant for the PL. (Not often, but there are instances, especially when a chapter in sliced into parts.)InTheDesert wrote: ↑February 21st, 2021, 6:49 amEither of them actually! After discussion with the other admins, the general consensus is that if something like this were implemented, the DPL would miss out on any comments posted in the thread about the submitted sections. ("Would you please check where I put the footnote and see if it works there?" or other such comments)
And since the DPL has to go into the MW to change the PL status anyway, it's not really needed.
So they/we don't want to pursue this. It is an intriguing idea, though!
