Depending on when it is, I could be persuaded to share my cover-making procedure.

What Michele did was valuable. This idea makes it even more valuable!MaryinArkansas wrote: ↑March 14th, 2021, 4:55 pm Michelle,
Maybe you could do a Zoom session with a couple of other Librivox people who make also make covers and have a back and forth discussion on how you each approach it, what’s the same for each person, what’s different, problems you’ve encountered, problems you’ve solved, etc.
I'd be interested in seeing Triicia's use of the Gimp program, and any other illustration programs used by our cover makers. I know nothing about Gimp except that it's free. I use Photoshop 6.0, very old but still powerful.

I use Gimp, and it's a pretty powerful tool. I also use Inkscape (free). This can be used to create some great text effects,
such as putting text on a path.

I'm very much a self-taught rookie at Gimp, but I could share some things. (I haven't figured out the "text along a path" thing, nor any way to make my lettering anything other than basic with shadow.)

Okay, how about a Cover Making Tutorial Using Gimp, Tricia can share her method, then others can show what tricks they know. We have Sunday the 21st and 28th coming up before Easter, and I'm partial to anytime between Noon and 4. 3 p.m. gives everyone time to get back from church or family luncheon. and doesn't interfere with dinner. We have 3 so far to present (Tricia, Adrian, Loon), and I can host if Phil isn't available.

Who would be interested in participating?
What can we learn from the first such event?
Best Regards,

I would like to attend the next zoom meeting when it occurs

Is 2:00 PM Eastern (1:00 PM Central) work? Kevin's usually up on his indoor cycling trainer around that time, so we don't disturb each other.msfry wrote: ↑March 15th, 2021, 6:59 am Okay, how about a Cover Making Tutorial Using Gimp, Tricia can share her method, then others can show what tricks they know. I'm thinking this Sunday, unless that's not enough lead time. Although I don't expect us to be doing anything the afternoon of Palm Sunday, either.

I could, but they're not warm enough. (Yes, this overweight, 40-something-on-the-slide-to-50 wears cycling kit!)
