I am sorry that zoon won't display our gallery view, it was lovely to see all those smiling faces from different places.
We talked about editing. and had a demo of Punch & Roll, the quicker way to edit.

It works! Note there is a link in the chat side panel to a video by Devorah on using Punch & Roll in Audacity.
EDIT; Unfortunately the gallery view did not show up like it was supposed to. We had it in gallery but only speaker view shows. darn.

Yes the wonderful world of poetry and how it is chosen, recorded and put into our catalog was discussed. But first you get to hear me singing "It's beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas" unconsciously while I wait for people to show up. Sorry about that, it was not intentional and I can't edit these things.
We also shared some of the tips that help us record more comfortably or read better. Tongue Twisters were mentioned, an interesting way to limber up that old tongue that I had never thought of. I showed my Lumbar support that saves my back.

Attendance (17 persons): Phil, Michele Fry (msfry), Bill Jones, Mary Haywood, Larry Wilson, Matea Bracic, Colleen McMahon, Denise Ray, Todd HW, Mark Nelson, Carmen Fullmer, Claudia, Dave Lawrence, Helen Mackay & her Mom, Scarbo, Kevin
Poetry Weekly and Fortnightly projects, longevity of project (since forever), how to search with Advanced Search, benefits of participation, great place for newbies to wet their feet, pleasures of participation.
Challenges of recording poetry, and stringing several poems together in one file to avoid the interruption of the LV disclaimer.
Preparing to record: Limbering up the voice, including phrases to help loosen the tongue. improving posture using the Lumbar pillow. Chat included some specific tongue twister phrases.
Internet Archive: Views, Favorites, and using the Review feature to leave comments on the books you read.
(Thanks to MIchele for taking notes)

Next week we will discuss editing again: I will show my old fashioned way and anyone else is welcome to share their method of cleaning up those files. Then DRAMATIC READINGS - how those marvelous plays and DRs are put together, recorded and edited.

When: Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel: Sunday, Oct 4, at NOON central time.
Topics: editing and Dramatic Reading and chit-chat
