Whoops. I will turn off that waiting room thingie Devorah, thanks for the tip. Nice talking with you.mightyfelix wrote: ↑August 30th, 2020, 10:23 am Somebody let Phil know that I'm sitting in the waiting room. And it's boring in here! Not even any pictures on the walls or magazines to read!

It's fine, Phil. Turns out I wouldn't have been able to contribute to discussion anyway, since my phone isn't smart enough to handle Zoom, especially when there's no WiFi nearby. I enjoyed the little bit that I was able to be there for!

Thanks for hosting this, Phil. I thought it went well. It was nice connecting faces to some of the voices that I've heard over the years. (So pleasant not to have to wear masks.)
Phil, I forgot to thank you for the "how to" videos that you've put together through the years. I don't record often, but I always refer to them when I do record. They help a lot.
And you've "guilted" me into checking into something to DPL.

Thanks for hosting the Zoom, Phil. Sorry I had to leave. My intro reminded me that I need to change my screen name since I’m not from San Jose anymore. SacMarky? EGhead? Or maybe I’ll just go with MushMouth.
I was there. The handsome one!

I like MushMouth; simple yet tells a story. Hope you can come to the next one. It will be a combination of "Ask the Admins" "Why Do We Do that SillyThing (insert silly thing we do) in LibriVox?" and "What's On My Books I gotta Read List". Also I would like to talk about using Zoom for dramatic works. It will be 10 or 11 EST.

I enjoyed the ZOOM meeting today and thank everyone for being there. We had 7 people I think and everyone top quality; not a ringer in the bunch. It was so nice to listen to the masters talk and share. (although I think Algy dozed off a few times) Things went so well I will be hosting another, open to anyone at all. Thanks for the hint about a better time.
Next ZOOM will be Monday, Sept 7 (Labor Day in the US) 10 am EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Masks are optional. 2 PM Grenwich time I think. Is this a more convenient time?
Agenda:
1) "Ask the Admins" - Kind of a meet the admins but with time to ask them why we do this or that silly, totally ridiculous thing thing. If no other admins show up I will sidestep questions and introduce you to my cats Buddy, Baby and Mittens.
2) "How Do You Find Things To Read?" a chance to hear how others find those gems and you don't. Sharing and caring.
3) "Open Discussion about Your gripes and praises for LibriVox. What do we do well, what could we do better?
Dat's it. I'd love to hear BCs and MCs talk about proof listening; what they think it should be but I can only count to three so it is only hypothetically on the agenda. As always I am looking for ways to see if this technology can help us.

Maybe it's time to give him the key to the corner office Phil ?
Don't forget to reset the lever that drops people into the bottomless pit though, I'm not sure if it's been readied since the last pesky member entered ........................

Looking forward to the next Zoom meeting!
