A Lock Down Challenge

Hello, I have an idea. I used "an august challenge" because I don't want to call this a clean up month. The intention here is different: we are under lock down or semmy lock down and we have more time. Many more new readers join us, some start and some simply don't know where. Perhaps it would be a good idea to take all projects with less than 10 or 15 chapters to claim and try to complete them. I don't give a time limit, I only think we should create a list of such project and put it at the top of every forum. I considered this for a long time because I don't want to cause the admins trouble. But here is my reasoning:
1. We all need something to motivate us and give us a push. Wether we are new, "old readers" or returning readers.
2. Lock down is dipressing. I think such a project can make us all a little happier. The feeling that I managed to help complete these last chapters is a kind of accomplishment.
3. We all have more time right now to learn and actually be invested in books we don't know. It would keep us busy during lock down.
4. Some readers just get lost about where to start. I seetthat in the new here section of the forum. Of course not all new readers are confused, but some are. I believe such a list can help them.
What do you think?
Stav.

I 100% agree and like your idea. I think it is wonderful. I don't think it will cause the admins trouble, because if we as readers and volunteers and just trying to do what we do best, but push forth on it a bit more, the only trouble it may give is the admins keeping up with us  <wink> So we aren't doing a "clean up," but it comes with motivation, in a sense that is more for the heart and soul. Books get our minds off of what truly is reality right now, and for many of us, that reality is boring, violent, and or sad. There was a discussion in another forum for a push for dramatic works, and the arguing case was that it was for the readers. Sometimes it isn't necessarily for creating audiobooks for free for everyone, although that is all the more we do with a push, but it is books for the readers. I think a "push," to get some books going would be wonderful. I would also suggest, that being there are many users returning and joining, creating more projects would also be wonderful. I mean, we are here to create audiobooks for free for everyone, and if it is a mind and soul thing, create a volume two!

Now.... we'll just need someone to put a couple of books in a list for us here

I might find some time to do so. :D

Feel free, but:
(1) Keep in mind whatever list you have will have to be updated very frequently (daily, at least). And only the OP can update the post.
(2) Please allow BCs to opt out if they don't want to participate.

:)

Elijah, please remove the line about starting LV projects. I have two reasons for this request: first, MCs do have a limited amount of projects they can take on at once, so dumping a bunch of new projects in the Launch Pad would not be helpful, and second, newbies might read that and think they can BC a project right away. I'd rather leave this to reading for projects rather than starting a whole bunch of new ones. (That will happen naturally; we don't need a challenge to do that.) :)
