Hey everyone,

In my efforts to listen to Librivox content in my home (esp during the lockdown), I built a voice app to play Librivox collection that works on all Google Assistant supported devices (your smart phone, Google Home, Google Nest etc).
Its entirely voice based and you do not need any additional configuration or to download any separate apps. You also do not get any popups or ads and is totally free,
To use the voice app, say to your google assistant

Code: Select all

Ok Google, Talk to Book Reader
You can say then select the book you want to hear by the title. You can skip chapters or ask for a recommendation as well. The detailed instructions are at https://audiobookreader.app/start
There is also a collection of popular title (for someone not so familiar with librivox) at https://audiobookreader.app/browse/

I hope its useful to some of you. I am happy to get your feedback and things that you would like to see improved.

Take care,

Update: I spent some time last week to add the ability to play the content also on the website. So now users can also play all the audiobooks also directly on https://audiobookreader.app/
So for users who do not have a google assistant compatible device can also listen to the content.
Furthermore, even if you have a google assistant device, you can start to listen to some of the content directly on the website and if you like an audiobook, you can directly send that audiobook from the same webpage to your google home or your phone to listen there.
Hope it is useful for y'all. Happy for feedback. And if you like the app, please leave a rating here: https://assistant.google.com/services/a/uid/0000009e67666043
It would mean a lot. Thanks
