Could we change the blurb on the home page?

I mean:
"LibriVox audiobooks are free for anyone to listen to, on their computers, iPods or other mobile device, or to burn onto a CD."
Do people use iPods or CDs anymore?

Yes, the older generation does (CDs).

An emphatic ...
Yes! I burn similar LV audio books (or series) to CDs (and/or DVDs) for birthday/Christmas gifts for relatives and friends.

When the Zombie Apocalypse occurs and they knock down all the cell phone towers and cut all the Internet lines---that's part of their plan, you know---I'll be locked in my house, equipped with my own generator, and listening to my CDs of Dean Martin.

A friend of mine spent a good deal of money on a superb system system, for its time, and he insisted tape gave the finest sound. Not cassettes, but 3/4 inch (?) tape. He had a turntable, too, but he would wave his hand toward it like it was a lowly thing in comparison.

The problem with cassettes was that they were very noisy, due to the very slow running speed - 1 and 7/8 inches per second. Bic made a double speed cassette deck which sounded much better, but which never became popular.
The big reel to reel machines used to run at 15 inches per second - a lot of tape got used but the sound quality was superb.

That awful sound of a cassette machine eating one's favorite tape!
