Every year the Internet Archive, who host our website and all our audiobooks, has a gathering, and this year's was on the theme of Building a Better Web. Their goals:
  • Let’s bring everything online and make it accessible;
  • Let’s make what is digital permanent and reliable;
  • Let’s build a decentralized web that we can trust.
The event happened on Wednesday, and was streamed to YouTube, where you can watch it now. The 10 min book-section presented by Brenton Cheng starts at 1:38:58 -- well worth watching -- and talks about LibriVox from 1:45 onwards ... including news of a pretty neat new app tie-in.

And, thank you to Wendy at archive.org for letting us know about all this. :9:
There's honestly no such thing as a stupid question -- but I'm afraid I can't rule out giving a stupid answer : : To Posterity and Beyond!

Thanks so much for sharing! Such fascinating stuff, and exciting!

I did have to laugh out loud, though, when he said (around 1:47:35) that you'll be read to by someone who's British... And then I recognized the voice of one of my favorite Aussies, Beth Thomas! :lol:

I watched it all the way through. Very interesting and enlightening. I knew that IA was awesome, of course, but I had no idea of the size of their scope. :clap: :9:
