hello everybody, my friends !

I need your help to make my corrections easier.
I watched Phill's vídeos, took notes, but every time I am going to correct a word in a recorded file, I keep listening to my own recording over and over again.
let me explain:

I found the wrong word, selected it.Pressed the record button to record it on the new track below, when I do this I keep listening the track above.I have to go to the end of the recording, record the word there, select it, copy, find its location again on the previous recording and paste it.

what am I doing or not doing right?
thank you for your help,
brianna :help:

So the problem is that you hear your old recording while making the new one?

Go to Preferences (control-p). Click on Recording, then uncheck the Overdub box.

(Pro tip: don't just record the one wrong word. Record the whole phrase or sentence, somewhere where there's a natural break. Then replace the whole thing or just the part you want. This helps you get the intonation matched up.) :)
