For anyone who is interested in getting or upgrading or replacing some recording equipment, one of Amazon's Deals of the Day today is a sale on Audio Technica products that includes 3 sets of headphones and 3 different microphones in the $50-$150 range. All models have 4+ stars with 100s or 1000s of customer reviews.
This is in the US, not sure if Amazon in other areas has this or similar items on sale.

For this who are interested, tv/o tech guru George Whittam has highly recommended the Audio Technica AT 2020+ USB as an ideal starter microphone for newbie narrators.
I think that it is one of the best USB microphones I have heard and is far cheaper than premium models like the MXL 009.USB, the Blue Yeti Pro and the latest kid on the block, the Sennheiser MK4 Digital (which will set you back about $US400).
The only other USB microphone that George Whittam mentions is the Shure PB42 USB which is almost impossible to find nowadays.
