Question about short story collections

Not a complaint, just a question!

I've just started exploring the short science fiction story collections and discovered that one story ("Bread Overhead") appears in both of the first two of them. I started poking around and found a lot of duplication (for example, "Vanishing Point" is in eight collections, often back-to-back ones). So how were the stories chosen, faves of the readers?

They sure are fun, reminds me of the books I read in the 70's.

Yes - readers choose what they'd like to read for collections, as long as they're public domain. Same with solos. Same with projects BCs decide to open up as group projects.

We do try to avoid having any duplications in a single project. But back-to-back collection duplications are not unusual. We have 19 versions of Poe's Tell-Tale Heart in a variety of collections.
