We read books as they are written - so with all the words that the author used. So there will be curses, and words that are now not considered polite for other reasons, as well.

If you don't feel comfortable saying such words when recording, and you do happen to have signed up for a section that contains them, please hand back the section to the pool, to let someone else record it. That's OK.

It sometimes gets more complicated if the author put in "D___" - how to read such things... I believe we've had a forum thread about that somewhere, to discuss options.
