So while working on linking Wikipedia pages I came across one of our texts that is being distributed via the Google Books platform and I contacted them to ask if they would be interested in having Librivox as a publisher and linking to our books that way. They don't have any audiobooks.
Long and unnecessarily complicated conversation later ...
The answer is "No" because they do not want publishers who publish books in the public domain. I thanked them for their time and said if they change their mind to contact the admin's via the website contact page.
Just in case you get a weird contact asking to publish on Google books....
The technical side of things is also that they currently only allow audio to be embedded in EPUB 2 and EPUB 3 formats - which we don't do.

Google is only interested in things that can be "monetized", I expect.
It's probably best to run this kind of thing by the admin team before making that kind of approach. Gets confusing, otherwise.
