Languishing / Nearly Finished Projects Thread Needed?

I followed the June High Noon thread with interest where we were able to get a number of projects finished. Would it make sense to have a similar thread for projects (esp. group) that have slowed down, but are near completion? One's that I'm involved with are OPEN [DRAM.RD] Imaginary Conversations by Walter S Landor-tg - 15 male parts remaining and I thought Sylvie and Bruno by Lewis Carroll, but I see that we're just waiting for the reader to complete 4 parts.

I'm assuming there are others.

Because of the way the posts run in the forum, if a project is very quiet it will drop off the front page and become even more invisible. This is a way to raise it's visibility again.

Your thoughts?

The finishing off months in my view only work because they are special, so no I would not be in favour . Readers chose what they want to read, that's LibriVox. People can just look at the end of the readers wanted threads if they feel like helping something along occasionally.
There are always male parts left in DRs - we don't have as many males who want to participate in them. So if people chose to have "gender specific" casting they will take longer and they accept that

The problem with having a thread or post for "near completion" projects is that it is a bear to keep it updated. Quite honestly, I would assume that most people have better things to do on here.

And as for another cleanup month, they are good and work only if used sparingly (a bit like Christmas or Birthdays). We usually had one per year, which worked nicely enough; and again, they are a lot of work for everybody involved.

I am not sure if this works for the general reader, you could try it out yourself.
To find projects nearing completion:
- login to the workflow
- go to the LV Management Dashboard, on top you should see a link "stats"
- in the "stats", you should see a link "Active Projects", which will give you a list of all projects that are in progress right now.
- you can sort by "status" and by "completed %" to find the group projects that are still looking for readers (they are "open"). Obviously, the higher the percentage, the nearer to completion
Sorry, admin only... :(

Otherwise, all you can do is to check out the lower posts of the "readers wanted" fora and help out yourself a bit. I know there are readers on here who enjoy giving those languishing projects a push.

(The Active Projects stat page is only available to admins. It was one of the things that wasn't finished when we ran out of money.)
