You know, the traditional tenth wedding anniversary gift theme was always tin (and later aluminium). Who knew that our elders were such incurably romantic devils?
Which brings to mind Britain's great traditional source of the metal, Cornwall, where my family originally came from, a long time ago.
Except that, in the Cornish language, the metal is called 'sten'.
Care to plug "tin" into the online dictionary's Cornish Words box, hit the APPLY button, and see what the Cornish word "tin" means in English? http://www.cornishdictionary.org.uk/
Suddenly that aluminium wedding gift doesn't look so bad.
