I'm so, so sorry to hear this news. I worked with Denny many times. He has always been part of Librivox for me and I'll miss him greatly. Roberta, my sincerest condolences to you and your family.
Denny's reader number was 26, which means that he has been at LV since the very beginning.
Here is Denny's reader page, including 804 recorded sections and 21 completed solos. He also coordinated one of the few completed class projects in our catalog.
edit: Cross-posted with David.

That certainly is sad news
We were all very fond of Denny here and we will miss him greatly. His enthusiasm was infectious, and his love for literature shone out from his readings. I particularly enjoyed working with him on his project of Twain's outrageous "1601".
Roberta, if you are reading this, I send you and your family my deepest condolences. I shall always listen to Denny's voice with great affection.

I knew he had been battling illness, but I thought he had pulled through. He just recently started a new solo (Devotions on Emergent Occasions by John Donne) which he felt he could relate to, since Donne wrote it after recovering from a life-threatening illness.
I'm very sorry to hear of this. He is one of the LibriVox legends.

I had no idea he was sick, I can't believe he's gone, and that so suddenly...
I am very sorry to hear this, my thoughts go to his family and friends.
He will be missed, and let me second what Tricia said above:

Denny read several chapters in my first ever BC project (circa 2007) and if I remember correctly, he was sick then. Through all the ups and downs, though, he kept coming back to LV. Rest in peace, Dr. Sayers.

I don't know the words to express my sorrow. I had the honor of DPLing his last completed project and it was a joy to work with him. I was looking forward to the next ones, already started.
You will be sorely missed Denny.

I don't think we ever worked together on a project, although he had just claimed a few sections in one I am DPL for now But, from the posts above, it sounds as if he has left quite an amazing legacy in LibriVox. I wonder if some sort of commemorative project might be in order? Just a random thought.
On the road again, so delays are possible

I am so terribly sorry to hear this. Denny was one of the "old-timers" around here, and was an enthusiastic and kindhearted volunteer. We shared a love of children's literature and worked together many times over the years.
I will miss him very much. :(

Roberta,
Thank you for letting us know, and I am very sorry for your loss. I was honoured that Denny claimed roles in my play projects, and more so now when I realise he must not have been well at the time. I am so glad that he found time recently to narrate our Magna Carta play, and I look forward to editing it and adding another great recording to the catalogue of a great Librivoxer.
