10th Anniversary LibriVox song

I am currently working on producing a song based on the tune Widdicombe Fair, but instead of starting "Tom Pearce, Tom Pearce" it will, of course, start "Ten years, ten years" :P.

My ardent desire is to have absolutely as many LibriVoxers as possible sing/say their name in the fourth line of the verses. As always, you can sing/speak as much or as little of the song as you like. When I have all the contributions in, I will slice and dice all the bits to get the most fun result possible. Full details will follow as soon as I have worked it all out, so bookmark this thread!

For those of you who have not experienced my terrible songs before, here are some previous efforts:

LibriVox is 9
LibriVox is 8
but I don't think we have ever surpassed the one at 7:58 in the Fundraising Podcast.

I've never heard of Widdicombe Fair, is that one of your wonderful British folk songs? :)

I hope ours won't be quite as terrifying as that...

Oh wait... it probably will!

I loved the fundraiser one. That was so fun! I didn't participate in last year's song, but I'd love to join in this year. I can't wait to see what your result will be. :)

I hadn't heard the song either, but it sounds pretty simple. (The next link on YouTube seemed a better sound to the song - clearer. But the cool graphics of the first link are worth watching that one, too.) :)

The fundraising one was funny--but so were the rest! I'd love to be a part of this!

Such a pity that Geoff Mack's old song http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I've_Been_Everywhere isn't out of copyright yet. Singing the titles of what you've recorded at a rapid clip would be quite a challenge...."I've Read Every Book, Man".

Especially for those with extensive catalogues. What do you think, Ruth and MaryAnn? Ready to do a duet that'll give Sophie and Celeste Clabburn a run for their money? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Grmjki89b4M

Kangaroo: I've virtually finished the words, just playing around with the music, but thank you!

SotE: What a brilliant idea! I wish I could think of another (PD) song that we could use for it - there must be something :hmm:. Ideas, anyone?

ETA The Sailor's Hornpipe might work... anyone who has ever heard the Last Night of the Proms will know it, and how it speeds up. That version is of course from Henry Wood's 1905 Fantasia on British Sea Songs but as far as I can see it wasn't actually published until the 1940s :(. However, the original song is from a 1770 manuscript, so I see no reason why one could not arrange it oneself...

I don't know a places list song ... but perhaps there's some mileage in 'Nell Flaherty's Drake' in relation to all the things that stop us recording, such as in viewtopic.php?f=23&t=52439
There's honestly no such thing as a stupid question -- but I'm afraid I can't rule out giving a stupid answer : : To Posterity and Beyond!

And we've done half of these, of course ... If you want a receipt - Gilbert & Sullivan

Oh, why didn't I think of G&S? I have never actually seen Patience, but Koko's little list from the Mikado could work too...

I love Nell Flaherty's Drake - never heard that one!

I suspect we are going to end up with more than one song this year...

And one of them should be REALLY, REALLY simple to sing. Please.

Boom-de-yada?
