Some of these are free, I think. But be careful, some of these may be viruses.

Well I just thought of an alternative. You can turn on your speaker, and record it with Audacity. This will probably not be the best quality, though.

I can't help with choosing software. Sorry. :(

It doesn't look that safe... I did a google search and it appeared there were multiple pages with instructions to remove. One even said "Almoto is a tricky virus locking into your hard drive."

So I would say that this one isn't safe at all.

Hi Everybody
How about not rushing into the future too quickly, just have the "meetings" and see how it all works out before planning , maybe it will work , maybe it won't . Time differences are a big problem for making them happen and I've never tried to record Skype but somewhere in the forums there are statements that the sound quality is too poor to use - I think it was to do with a live drama being run.

It's almost impossible to tell in advance how anything will take off here - look at the time different group projects take - even those by the same author
I suggest Jessie doesn't download software before finding out more about it - she could try posting in helpwanted a heading "Recording Skype" and a post "has anyone recorded skype meetings , what did they use and was it succesful"
type of thing

Well I don't think it's that important to record the meetings, it would be a nice addition to the LV Community Podcast, but still, I don't think it's that important.

EDIT: Anne types faster than me. :D

Yes - we should not rush.

And yes, it's not that important - it was just a suggestion, and it may work if we can do it, but since we can't, we just have to reject it :)

Anne, I'm writing in my phone so I cannot download it :D

I'll try to find out the right software in "Need Help" forum :)

she won't get an answer straight away - not everyone will know the answer. So it would be worth starting now so you would have it if it was wanted.
I don't know if Skype counts legally as a phone call - but here it is legal to record phone calls but not legal to publish them , so podcasting them would need looking into carefully even if it were possible

I meant that we could all have audacity running in the background, like when we are usually recording.
Of course that means that we might have to to edit back together, but if there are any bits we want I could do that.

Eta: I think that a couple of interviews for the podcast have been done that way in the past.

I'm not sure my laptop is fit to run Skype AND audacity. Skype is using lots of resources while running. I've never had both programs run at the same time. :)
