Got a tweet today: "Will you be posting any list of romantic poetry in honor of Valentine's Day?"

Sure, why not?

Is someone willing to put together a list of romantic poetry projects that we could post for V-Day?

I'm not sure if we can pick out individual poems from collections - those would be hard to link to. But we could use weekly/fortnightly poetry, or if any poet is especially romantic and has a whole project cataloged, we could use that, too.

What do you think? Who's game?
School fiction: David Blaize
America Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart

Awww I forgot about this project. Kristin (Kri) was an admin way back when. She and Corey have three kids now!

For me, Recuerdo was a love poem, too: https://librivox.org/recuerdo-by-edna-st-vincent-millay/

That first gentle, amused amazement at what's happening.

Valentine's Day appears to have been largely invented by the great Geoffrey Chaucer, perhaps with some help from Charles d'Orléans. I recorded one from each some time ago:
