Very odd. One of my friends just emailed me. My reading of The Song of Hiawatha was chosen as one of her eight favourite recordings by last week's guest on Desert Island Discs (Claire Bertschinger) .... though I think she's more interested in the content than any particular qualities of the reader.
.... and it's read a bit too slowly for my tastes now.
But we may get some more readers and listeners if anyone follows up on it.

Wow, that's really awesome. Congratulations.
So little space, so much to say.
Bravo, Peter! @LibriVox has tweeted your fame!

Oh, I heard it, and thought how brilliantly read - I didn't realize it was you, Peter!
I enjoyed the pace, it gave time to listen and absorb the atmosphere.
So often recordings, spoken and music (e.g. Pachelbel's Canon on Classic FM ) are recorded at a pace
to make one think they are rushing to catch the last bus!
Congratulations!

Thanks, everyone; I've been listening to Desert Island Discs occasionally for most of my life. It feels very peculiar to ... sort of .... appear on it myself.
