10 years ago yesterday Laurence Lessig released his seminal book Free Culture free online, under a Creative Commons license. Read it here.

Shortly afterwards, AKMA was inspired to "crowd-source" an audio version, which you can listen to here.

Ultimately, these happenings were the inspiration for Hugh McGuire's idea of LibriVox, which commenced operations a little over a year later.

Hugh has created a wonderful resource, but at the same time has made Librivox the most addictive thing online. :lol:

i didnt know that! interesting to see the inspiration that started librivox :)
