I have noticed that there are people from non-English speaking countries who have joined the Librivox in order to help it achieve its goals. Thanks to all of them! If they are sometimes unsure of how to pronounce this or that word while recording, here comes a solution for them: http://www.howjsay.com/ To use this dictionary, type a word in the edit field, then press the submit button. That being done, you will hear the pronounciation of the word you have typed. :)

Thanks for the dictionaries offered. Here is also a good Cambridge English-English dictionary with pronounciations. I hope you'll like this. http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/

The Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary is very good: http://oald8.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/ Not available offline, though, which is why I didn't suggest it before.

Dear and highly respected Ruth,

Let me tell you that you simply know what people want, and that you are always ready to give it to them if you are able to find what they want. I tried the Oxford, and I'll be free to say that the pronounciations it contains are professionally recorded. Thank you for making me satisfied! :)
