Some of you may not be familiar with the "Jamboree" but it is a long lost LibriVox tradition, that I thought I would resurrect for at least the first weekend of the year.

Here's what it's all about: We take a weekend (it used to be the last? of the month) to all make a concerted effort to get a bunch of recordings done. We all encourage eachother, and take advantage of the excitement of a Jamboree to get some recording done that we've been meaning to do.

So I figured, what better way to start the year by getting stuff done, and starting with a clean(er) slate!

For those of you that don't have time on the weekend, we'll be lenient on you and let you do it a bit early :)

So, dust off that recording equipment, load up your favorite editing software, and get recording! Post your intentions, and progress here, and we'll all cheer you on.

I suppose I should start it off by making my plans for this weekend's jamboree.

I plan to finish editing the Ivanhoe chapter I recorded tonight, and get the next chapter recorded (and maybe edited). I also plan to get some MC organization done.

Sorry, which weekend (date) is this you're announcing? Thanks.

Sorry kri, which weekend (date) is this you're announcing? This Jan 5-8th? Sounds like it's worth podding in #16. Thanks.

Good idea! I'll make it easy on myself -- by next Monday I'll record at least one more section of my poetry project, one section of Letters of Two Brides, and one section of the Cyclopedia Of Useful Things, or whatever it's called :)

I have a backlog of editing to do that would make a librarian blush... *blushes* ... perhaps my goal should be to just make a list of them heh...

My available recording time for this weekend depends on whether or not I have to work. I hope to have a little time to record either way, and I'll probably use the opportunity to get cranking on the first chapter of my first solo project. Woohoo!

My biggest holding-everyone-up bit of recording is An Ideal Husband.

Must do that!

Oh, and The Three Musketeers!!

I've got a chapter to record for 3 Musketeers plus I'll do some proof listening on that project too.
