I picked up the bit from the Anniversary Recording about the need for coders to do the cataloging system. Just out of interest (since I'm a moderate php coder), what kind of system are we talking about here? Web based?
It also mentioned that it has been started but ran into some kind of problems. Any info on that anyone?

... yes, there have been several (at least 3 starts) on creating a Librivox database and catalog system. My husband and I were working on the last one... and I think he is still trying to do it, though, I have given up due to the stress it puts on our relationship.

Can't consentrate enough at this time of the night to rummage throught the whole thread. But hopefully I manage to do it tommorrow (always been bad at reading throught long threads that I haven't followed before)
Of course I would be eternally greatful to the individual who would summarize it for me (ie, what the system would HAVE to be able to accomplish (I mean the bare basic stuff that would make it usefull with just them in it) and the "nice to have" things that aren't essential but would add to the funcionality).

Betsie made an image of a sort of work-up of the database. I don't remember where it is, but maybe she can point you to it.
Ok, have made some rummaging and got the basic idea for the system. It doesn't seem too complicated, exept if it would have to be linked to some other public database (I got that impression from some of the posts) to gather information from.
The major problem in developing for me is time. SInce this would be time consuming prosess and my time is somewhat limited, so it wold take my quite some time to get it into a working condition.

Yes, this has been the situation with most who have attempted this project...raezel wrote: The major problem in developing for me is time. SInce this would be time consuming prosess and my time is somewhat limited, so it wold take my quite some time to get it into a working condition.
