I’d like to thank Newgatenovelist for her reading of this amazing poem. I hadn’t read it before and after hearing it I knew I’d found something special. I mixed her vocals with a Hip-Hop instrumental I made and took out a few words to keep her vocals in the pocket so it seems as though she were rapping the poem. It was pretty fun to make. If she’d like to see it this is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSdmccLn_TM Thank you all for working on such an amazing project in fact.

Great piece of video art, Ann! It shows off Newgatenovelist's particular dreamy style of delivery to perfection! Really enjoyed it.

Praise received for billcoon (William Coon) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hey there,

It`s time - again - to thank my favourite reader William Coon. He is, was and will always be my favourite reader.
It`s still hard for me sometimes to fall asleep or to relax when I should sleep because I have to get up early. It`s always Mr. Coon who reads some of my favourite ghost & horror stories and "helps" me to relax and fall asleep. Or when I did another apprentice ship and had to relax from learning - it was his voice that soothed me.

So please send him this email with a big "THANK YOU, MR. COON ! " :-).

Kind regards,

Ingrid

Praise received for laineyben (laineyben) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Ms. Tweddle, I am completely captivated by your voice. After listening to The Hand of Fu Manchu, The Return of Fu Manchu and The Quest of the Sacred Slipper, I would love to hear more. I became a rabid Sax Rohmer fan during my teenage years and was delighted to discover the recordings on Librivox. Your interpretation of these classics is just spot on. I now listen while I am driving, as I purchased these stories on a flash drive from Ebay. I wish you could see the smile on my face as you relate these tales. I firmly believe you could read me the contents of a soup can, and I would be just as fascinated. I would love to know what your background is that allows you to read so beautifully. Thank you so much.

Dear LibriVox reader, Clarica,

I just want to say overall thanks for reading the poem, "A Vagabond Song", because I had to memorize and say the poem in front of my ninth-grade English class. I used your recording to practice saying it and just again thank you so much for your contribution, keep up the great work and have a good day.

Sincerely, Joel

Dear Mr. Tharp . . . I have been listening to the Continental Op stories and you did a wonderful job!!

Actually, you should know that in the years I've been listening to the Librivox stories, I've compiled a list of my favorite readers (a short one unfortunately). I only came across the Continental Op Stories because of a search I did on your name. From the results, I selected Continental Op. Please do more of these kinds of readings . . . you're perfect for them! Thank you!

Praise received for Chrisczech (Czechchris) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Please pass along my thanks at the enjoyment of listening to The Triumphs of Eugene Valmont as read by Czechchris (that must be some self-dubbed acronym or other?). He does a fantastic job. Doesn't hurt a bit that he's got a quite pleasant speaking manner (augmented with the accent; which makes for a good, believable narration as though Valmont is speaking. While Valmont might otherwise have a French accent, it is entirely conceivable given how urbane and educated Valmont's background is, it is quite conceivable Valmont would speak English virtually without accent. Indeed, the author, in The Clue of the Silver Spoons has a setting in England in which one character (Scotland Yard perhaps) is speaking to Valmont in 'unaccented French' (meaning no English accent) very pleasing to the ear.

Well done!

So many things Librivox brings to the ear to enjoy!

Kindest regards,

Tim

Enrica,

Grazie ancora e buona giornata

Grazie mille, Pierpaolo!

Buona giornata a te :)
Enrica

Dear John Greenman (Forum name: johng),

I would like to heartily thank you and congratulate you for your amazing reading of Mark Twain’s Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Your voice and your interpretation of all characters is really extraordinary. You made me laugh and moved me too. I felt as if I could see the faces of the characters and their expressions as they were talking. What an incredible gift you have. I hope that in the future you will record many, many, many more audiobooks!

Praise received for clifford (Nicholas Clifford) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

I know that Professor Nicholas Clifford is sadly no longer with us, but if it is possible to pass on this ‘thank you’ to his family, please do so. His reading of The Ambassadors by Henry James - which I have only recently discovered - is absolutely masterly. Although I have read the book before and enjoyed it, never have I so appreciated it as I do now listening to Professor Clifford’s reading. He is perfectly suited to James’s narrative ‘voice’, and he reads with such intelligence and perfect phrasing. What a wonderful and generous legacy to have left us for us grateful listeners.

With best wishes,

Andrew
