I’d like to thank Newgatenovelist for her reading of this amazing poem. I hadn’t read it before and after hearing it I knew I’d found something special. I mixed her vocals with a Hip-Hop instrumental I made and took out a few words to keep her vocals in the pocket so it seems as though she were rapping the poem. It was pretty fun to make. It`s time - again - to thank my favourite reader William Coon. He is, was and will always be my favourite reader.
It`s still hard for me sometimes to fall asleep or to relax when I should sleep because I have to get up early. It`s always Mr. Coon who reads some of my favourite ghost & horror stories and "helps" me to relax and fall asleep. Or when I did another apprentice ship and had to relax from learning - it was his voice that soothed me.

I became a rabid Sax Rohmer fan during my teenage years and was delighted to discover the recordings on Librivox. Your interpretation of these classics is just spot on. I now listen while I am driving, as I purchased these stories on a flash drive from Ebay. I wish you could see the smile on my face as you relate these tales. I firmly believe you could read me the contents of a soup can, and I would be just as fascinated. I would love to know what your background is that allows you to read so beautifully. Please pass along my thanks at the enjoyment of listening to The Triumphs of Eugene Valmont as read by Czechchris (that must be some self-dubbed acronym or other?). He does a fantastic job. Doesn't hurt a bit that he's got a quite pleasant speaking manner (augmented with the accent; which makes for a good, believable narration as though Valmont is speaking. While Valmont might otherwise have a French accent, it is entirely conceivable given how urbane and educated Valmont's background is, it is quite conceivable Valmont would speak English virtually without accent. Indeed, the author, in The Clue of the Silver Spoons has a setting in England in which one character (Scotland Yard perhaps) is speaking to Valmont in 'unaccented French' (meaning no English accent) very pleasing to the ear.

Well done!

So many things Librivox brings to the ear to enjoy!

Sono felicissima di averti fatto conoscere Grazia Deledda e stimolato a visitare la Sardegna. Amo molto sia l'una che l'altra.
Le tue parole mi hanno commosso: avere un feedback per una lettura su Librivox è molto gratificante, anche perché... rarissimo. Finita la lettura non se ne ha più traccia e spesso ho pensato che fosse una fatica inutile, benché piacevole.
Ora non ho più tempo di fare registrazioni (tre nipotine e una mamma anziana riempiono tutte le mie ore) ma ricevere il tuo commento ha compensato questo mio allontanamento forzato.

Ti ringrazio per avere speso qualche minuto per scrivermi.
La tua firma mi incuriosisce: forse sei di origine italiana in Francia...

I know that Professor Nicholas Clifford is sadly no longer with us, but if it is possible to pass on this ‘thank you’ to his family, please do so. His reading of The Ambassadors by Henry James - which I have only recently discovered - is absolutely masterly. Although I have read the book before and enjoyed it, never have I so appreciated it as I do now listening to Professor Clifford’s reading. He is perfectly suited to James’s narrative ‘voice’, and he reads with such intelligence and perfect phrasing. What a wonderful and generous legacy to have left us for us grateful listeners.
