Praise received for Hamlet (Hamlet) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Wonderful reader! As the book (Pickwick Papers) ended with the full Dickensian orgy of happiness and goodwill, this listener, said Ah! need to thank another reader. Thank you, from a listener in Marlboro, Vermont.
and...
Dear Librivox;

Beaucoup thanks to you and your spectacularly talented reader, "Hamlet"!

I spent many enjoyable days listening to his version of “Dombey and Son.” I can’t imagine the time it took, since it is extremely long.

More than that, his interpretation was so believable and amusing that I forgot I was listening to just one man.

‘Hamlet’ managed a range of ages with male and female voices. I haven’t spent much time in the UK, but it seemed he had a grasp of all kinds of accents and dialects. Also, he dramatized the work well, portrayed the psychology and emotional state of Dicken's (many) characters. It was excellent!

I assume Mr. 'Hamlet' is some type of actor or should be. Please send this on.

Thank you,

April

Praise received for Peter Why (Peter Yearsley) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Mr. Yearsley,

Thank you so very, very much for all your reading here on librivox. I have suffered nightmares for years, and for the past few years the books you have read have ameliorated them greatly, as I listen to the many books you have taken the time to narrate before I go to sleep. You are my bedtime story reader and you make my nights (and thus the world) a safer place.

A thousand blessings on your head,

Most sincerely,

Courtney

Hi Peter,

My name is Alex Williams. I produce and sound design a podcast called Ephemeral for iHeart radio. For October, we wanted to adapt an public domain, spooky story as an audio drama. The Haunted Orchard turned out to be perfect. What could be better than a ghost story about ephemera!

The finished work weaves sound design and music around your marvelous reading (and singing!). Here is a link if you would care to listen. The runtime is around 23 minutes. The plan is to air this episode on Monday, October 28th.

You have my sincerest gratitude for choosing to share your talent through Libravox; you are keeping stories alive. Please let me know if I can ever repay the favor. I hope to work together again!

Your fan,
--
Alexander

Dear Mark,

I very much enjoyed your reading of “My Man Jeeves” and was wondering if you had any plans to take a shot at reading a full-length Wodehouse book – “The Code of the Woosters”, for example?

Thanks and regards,

Thank you to Mark Nelson for reading another Wodehouse and one of my favorites too. If I could push my luck I would request that Mark would also read any mysteries or detective fiction he likes.
Thanks again.

I just finished listening to The Count of Monte Cristo. The narrator, David Clark, did an amazing job. I don’t know how he stayed true to the characters’ voices right through the end. Very impressive!

Praise received for LikeManyWaters (Like ManyWaters) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
I've just finished listening to 'The Unwilling Guest' by Grace Livingston Hill. I'm an old man, far older than I should be to enjoy Hill's and Pansy's type of books, but I do. Your reading was much appreciated. I was surprised when you broke into song where the author included the lyrics; if it was I reading, I would likely do as most readers do, simply read the lyrics as poetry. I wonder if you knew the songs or did you [as I would have to have done] look up the songs in order to sing them? [I don't expect an answer; it's just something I was wondering.]

Your reading was very expressive; I enjoyed it very much and will likely review some passages. I am often unable to read, my eyes doing very poorly on printed page; backlit on a monitor, I do much better. Anyway, it's always great fun to be read to, and I enjoyed your effort very much. Thanks so much.

Praise received for MaryAnnSpiegel (MaryAnn) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
A heart-felt THANK YOU to MaryAnn for your superb narrations of Spurgeon, Ryle and other Christian authors!

Are you planning on finishing the last 8 chapters (Vol. 3) of Ryle's "Gospel of John"?

My wife and I just finished reading through all seven volumes of Ryle's "Expository Thoughts on the Gospels", and plan on reading through them again while listening to your narrations!

In His marvelous mercy,
Jeff

Praise received for gloriana (Elizabeth Klett) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
I deeply admire your skilful and beautiful renditions of the books. No matter what genre, you bring live to the text of that book. Your work for Librivox has introduced me to the world of Classic Literature which I might never have read in my lifetime, because till now I was unaware of the magic of classic Literature. Your rendion of classics such as Jane Eyre, The Lady Audley's Secret ( these are the only ones I've listened till now. I've listened Jane Eyre 3 times and I still do in my spare time) have been the instruments which sprouted in me the seed of love for literature.
Thank you so much. I really love your voice: it's like a wisp of fresh balmy air.
Thank you again 😊

Hello,

Thank you so so much for your wonderful recording of the Awakening. I was confused about an assignment and I realized I had to read the whole book the day before it was due. You completely saved me. I was able to listen to your recording while doing other tasks and jotting down notes, and I got through the book much much faster. The availability of that recording lifted a weight from my shoulders. Thank you.

Best,
Virginia

:) So glad you enjoyed it, if you're out there George. And, for the record, I did have to look up all the hymns. They were all ones I didn't know. But such fun to learn how they would have sounded. Places like hymnary.org have many original melodies and music for older hymns.

Just want to say thank you to Danielle Cartwright for the reading of Tell It All by Fanny Stenhouse. You made it seem like it was Fanny herself reading / telling the details of her life. Thank you for your many hours spent in creating this audio book.
