I spent many enjoyable days listening to his version of “Dombey and Son.” I can’t imagine the time it took, since it is extremely long.

More than that, his interpretation was so believable and amusing that I forgot I was listening to just one man.



‘Hamlet’ managed a range of ages with male and female voices. I haven’t spent much time in the UK, but it seemed he had a grasp of all kinds of accents and dialects. Also, he dramatized the work well, portrayed the psychology and emotional state of Dicken's (many) characters. It was excellent!


I assume Mr. 'Hamlet' is some type of actor or should be. Please send this on.

My name is Alex Williams. I produce and sound design a podcast called Ephemeral for iHeart radio. For October, we wanted to adapt an public domain, spooky story as an audio drama. The Haunted Orchard turned out to be perfect. What could be better than a ghost story about ephemera!

I've just finished listening to 'The Unwilling Guest' by Grace Livingston Hill. I'm an old man, far older than I should be to enjoy Hill's and Pansy's type of books, but I do. Your reading was much appreciated. I was surprised when you broke into song where the author included the lyrics; if it was I reading, I would likely do as most readers do, simply read the lyrics as poetry. I wonder if you knew the songs or did you [as I would have to have done] look up the songs in order to sing them? [I don't expect an answer; it's just something I was wondering.]

Your reading was very expressive; I enjoyed it very much and will likely review some passages. I am often unable to read, my eyes doing very poorly on printed page; backlit on a monitor, I do much better. Anyway, it's always great fun to be read to, and I enjoyed your effort very much. Thanks so much.

So glad you enjoyed it, if you're out there George. And, for the record, I did have to look up all the hymns. They were all ones I didn't know. But such fun to learn how they would have sounded. Places like hymnary.org have many original melodies and music for older hymns.
