Praise received for
gypsygirl (Karen Savage) from our
'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Karen,
I am a mom of three young girls. Since the oldest was born - 7 years ago - I have come home week after week with loads of library books. My oldest is now an amazing reader - and is often found curled up with a book. I have focused so long on developing a love of reading for my girls, that I have hardly read for myself! Listening to your reading of
The Secret Garden brought me so much pleasure that I know from now on my own reading (or listening) will be a priority. You are such a gifted reader/narrator/orator! Thank you so much for the work you put in to this reading. It is very much appreciated and enjoyed. It was an absolute delight to listen - and an inspiration to carve out time for myself to enjoy books again. Really, thank you so very much for this gift. I enjoyed it immensely!

Jeannie,
I appreciate your reading of
Alice Adams. Your consistency and pacing was perfect. I do not have time to read, but can listen while I work. I think I acquired more empathy for others and insight into my own weaknesses and have grown by listening to this book. I thank you very much for your time and effort recording it.

Hello Mil
I just wanted you to know how much I am enjoying listening to you read to me
I am of 53 years, no less, (see, you have me talkin' all of a Dickensian nature!!! hahah) and I still love being read to now as I did when I was a young child. I am dyslexic and finding difficult very often, hence my enjoyment of being read to.
I know you're not actually reading to me as such but it feels like it, such uis the warmth and kindness you impart.
You bring the subject matter to a vivid, living animation in my my mind's eye. Your skill at switching quickly between the different voices is very impressive.
I am somewhat of a mimic myself and often walk around the house with different voices and characters portrayed by me.
I have to find an outlet for this but listening to Librivox and to you in particular has been an inspiration.
I 'ave someone 'ere who should like to pass on a thanks of 'is own........
OLIVER!!!!!!!!!!! get over ;ere ya thankless little imp......
Please, Ms. Nicholson....... I'm not got going to ask for more like you thought I might but, rather, was going to ask you.......
That's enough ya little worm! Leave the good lady alone!!!!!
Thank you, again, Mil and I look forward to listening to more of your reads.
With thanks and warm regards,
Simon

Dear Librivox,
I would like to thank Nicholas Clifford for his reading of this book and others.
I deliberately search by his name to find books I would like to listen to.
His quiet and steady style and (for an Australian not ‘overly’ American accent) make him a pleasure to listen to.
Thank you Nicholas.
