Praise for Nullifidian via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hi Nullifidian
Thanks a lot for your reading of The Cloak. It's one of my favourite Gogol short stories, and your recording was a great way to revisit it.
If can you remember, could you tell me what is the music piece you used in the recording?
Thanks a lot
Pedro
The Cloak is to be found in Best Russian Short Stories at http://librivox.org/best-russian-short-stories/

N.B. This recording has no music, so I think the correspondent must somehow have become confused.

Praise for rkeiper (Robert Keiper) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Mr. rkeiper:

Just a quick note to thank you very much your "The Window at the White Cat" recording. I really enjoyed it! It was wonderful how you assigned different voice tones to each character, allowing the reader (or the audience, properly said) to identify each character during the hearing.

Once again, congratulations for a very well done job!

Yours very truly

Carlos A.

Praise for Adrian (Adrian Praetzellis) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Adrian,

I wanted to send a small note of thanks to you for the gift you have given me and so many others of your time and your great reading voice talents.

I have listened with great pleasure to several of your readings and your inflection and timing have brought greater meaning even to works that I had already self-read.

Since Librivox has this availability and I am truly thankful, I am taking the opportunity to let you know for the many who may not write, that your efforts are sincerely appreciated.

Wishing you the best,

Lisa J

Thanks for your enjoyable reading of “Ghost Stories of an Antiquary” by M.R. James. You sound just enough like a young Alfred Hitchcock that it added to the chill!

Praise for all the readers of The Brothers Karamazov via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hello. I am a 53 year old man from the southeastern United States and I just finished "The Brothers Karamazov". This, as you know, is a very large book that took a very long time to record. I would like to thank each and every one of your readers for their tireless effort in this project. Each one of the readers brought their own flair and perception of the characters in the book to the listener.

I am presently staying in New Haven, Connecticut and I ride my bicycle about 30 minutes each way to and from work and these wonderful readers have given me the opportunity to hear the words of a great writer while I am dodging traffic. The Librivox effort, along with the wonderful work of the volunteer readers have enabled myself and so many others to enjoy great books. I have decided to listen to another Dostoyevsky book, "The Idiot".

Thank you again for so much of your hard work and time. The world is a better place because of your efforts.

Praise for russiandoll (Philippa) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
This message is sent to extend my profound thanks to Philippa for her reading of the Life of Cicero by Anthony Trollope. Her reading is smooth and listening to her greatly increases the value of Trollope's work.

I am a volunteer tour guide at the Old Westbury Gardens house at Old Westbury New York. There is a bust of Cicero in the White Drawing Room of the house. Ms. Philippa' reading has allowed me to add significantly to the interest in the tours that I give.

Outstanding work Philippa.

Best regards, James T.

Praise for Hawden (Alan Chant) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Many thanks for the enjoyment you have given me with your reading of 'Sailing alone around the world' by Joshua Slocum.

This is a book to which I have returned twice at least. An intriguing tale described in an attractive style.

I have much enjoyed your reading - particularly as I walked with my dog through Parkhurst Forest on the Isle of Wight.

Best Wishes

Praise for kayray (Kara Shallenberg) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Just a quick thank you for reading!

I recently discovered librivox and your reading of The Secret Garden was my introduction. My sincere yet simple gratitude doesn't even begin to describe what it has meant to me. I won't ramble on too much but basically I have a learning disorder and I love reading, I hate reading, I don't understand my own reading, I get frustrated, so I end up feeling sad and stupid. How did I ever get through grad school?!

Anyways, I happen to have a hard copy of the book and I listened to 98% of it, but I took my hard copy with me to a recent doctors
appointment. I read about 3 pages while waiting for my appointment and I actually sat down and read! I understood what I was reading.

It took me about 20 minutes to read those 3 pages but I could hear your voice reading along with me and it was fun to read again.

Oddly enough the book helped me understand some other things about myself too. It was kind of like free therapy! :)

No need to write back. Thank you!

It's very encouraging to receive that, but so embarrassing.
I am a Yorkshireman by birth, but don't consider myself as having any accent - how wrong can one be!
Thank you so much.

See! Even an accent we 'dislike' can be liked by another!

Well done.

(I have a client who is from Yorkshire and I love his accent.)

It's a very mellow Yorkshire accent, Chris, but you still have the vowels and it is delightful to hear. In Idle Thoughts, you sound as if you are sitting by the fire with a pipe in your hand and a dog at your feet. Lovely. :)
