Praise received for boojumuk (Kevin Green) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Just listened to The Tallyrand Maxim, read by Kevin Green. Mr. Green is my new favorite Librivox reader! His rendering of the characters is miles ahead of most readers –pace is steady, pronunciation is perfect -- couldn’t ask for more. So please: more! J.S. Fletcher (author of the Tallyrand Maxim) wrote dozens of novels that are in the public domain. Kindly implore Kevin Green to read them all!

Hello!

If you'd be so kind as to pass along this thank you message to reader Tux (tux753), I'd be most grateful. :)

Reader: Tux (tux753, https://librivox.org/reader/3946)

Book I'm thanking him about: The Spanish version of the nine books of Herodotus' "Histories" (Historias de Heródoto: https://librivox.org/libro-i-de-la-historia-de-herodoto/, https://librivox.org/libro-ii-de-la-historia-de-herodoto/, https://librivox.org/libro-iii-de-la-historia-de-herodoto-by-herodoto/, https://librivox.org/libro-iv-de-la-historia-de-herodoto-by-herodotus/, https://librivox.org/libro-v-de-la-historia-de-herodoto-by-herodotus/, https://librivox.org/libro-vi-de-la-historia-de-herodoto-by-herodotus/, https://librivox.org/libro-vii-de-la-historia-de-herodoto-by-herodotus/, https://librivox.org/libro-viii-de-la-historia-de-herodoto/, https://librivox.org/libro-ix-de-la-historia-de-herodoto-by-herodotus/)

Misa. :)"

Thank you very much for making my message reach this outstanding reader! :)

Best regards,
Misa.

Praise received for Mermaid (Mil Nicholson) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
A delighted, heartfelt thanks to this superb reader of Dickens—she does the police in different voices!!! Her Bleak House and Our Mutual Friend are masterful. And her Quilp in The Old Curiosity Shop is deliciously diabolical. Please, please do more recordings.

Praise received for Bereni (Bereni) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Bereni
I just want to express my appreciation for your EXCELLENT portrayal of the characters in "The Trail of the Lonesome Pine". Your reading of it really stands out. You are apparently no stranger to the old Appalachian ways of speaking. Please consider doing a solo reading of this and other classics.

Praise received for Helsbelles (Helen Taylor) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
I was absolutely enchanted with your reading of the “Little Ottley’s” trilogy. I listened to all three books almost without a break - and was sad when they ended, so enjoyable was your reading of them. The experience would not have been nearly so entertaining without the delightful inflection your voice added to it. Thank you so much for volunteering! I am an 82-year-old widow who benefits daily from the Librivox library!

Praise received for johng (John Greenman) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Just finished "Roughing It" and thoroughly enjoyed it. IMHO you are the voice of Mark Twain, even besting Hal Holbrook. Thank you for your work Mr Greenman, especially in the discipline of your reading, which never overshadows Twain's writing. Being an insomniac, I've come to depend upon your voice to beguile the long hours of the night. Thank you.

Cheers,
Kim

Praise received for MaryAnnSpiegel (MaryAnn) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
I’ve been a fan of Librivox for years. I LOVE IT! But I have to admit, when I am looking through books, I am often swayed if I know MaryAnn is the reader. She’s my favorite. I’ve listened to her voice so much that when I read physical books, I can almost hear her as I read. It’s lovely!

I am worried about her though. This summer I decided it was the year to conquer War and Peace. How delighted I was to find MaryAnn’s name as a reader. I got through volumes one and two and then realized volume three had not been finished and was left unfinished back in 2016. My first thought was that something had happened to MaryAnn, which broke my heart. I hope I’m wrong! Her voice is so easy and clear, her articulation is perfection. She’s my favorite reader ever, and I will always want more of her voice!

Praise received for kayray (Kara Shallenberg) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hi Kara,

You have the most listentoable voice I have ever heard.

I suffered with depression years ago and I would sleep in a spare room and listen to the radio throughout the night.

My depression came about through alcoholism which I had slowly drifted into and which eventually cost me everything except, just about, my life.

I was never a great one for reading novels or anything like that. I might read a book of short stories, but no novels.

I never got out of the habit of listening to stories at night and was introduced to Librivox a few years ago. Librivox is now my favourite listening platform and you, my favourite reader. I particularly enjoy the “history of the World” – which is shared between you and Michelle. I have listened to it so many times and it is hilarious and informative.

Your voice is outstanding, Kara. This is like something you were born to do. I enjoy your “jaunty”, almost musical way of speaking, and the beautiful way you pronounce “California”.

Incidentally, I am much older now than when I began listening to stories on the radio. I haven’t touched alcohol in over 25 years and I actually work with people who have addictions and others who are suffering with depression or are suicidal. Never saw myself in that role. (There might be a book in my life haha!)

This is the only way I know how to thank you. Your soothing voice and lovely accent are often the last thing I hear before I fall asleep and I have no way of paying you for that.

Would you tell me how I could download all of your readings and how I would pay you for this, please?
