Revised Bloopers Deadline: Sat July 22 At NOON EST

I will no longer be accepting "happy birthday" Files either at that time. I will however accept names only as they are easy to add to the end. Everyone who listens to the podcast will KNOW who was late so get yours in early so you are not the last name on the list!

Revised Deadlines

As you see above, Starlite's Final Deadline for Bloopers and "Happy Birthdays" is Tomorrow, July 22nd, Noon EST :)

She will only take "name" files after that.

The final Deadline for "keepers" (suggestions for the sampler I am compiling,) will also be tomorrow, but you can submit them until early evening, say, 6pm pacific time :)

The Final Deadline for interviews (please, keep them coming :) ) will be July 24th, um...11.59 pm (to give you till the last final minute, hee hee)

So I guess that would be the final deadline for submitting your name too.
:)

Note: First post also updated (and shortened) ;)
Any questions, read the first post or ask me or Starlite.

Thanks

I uploaded some files to the site, but I missed that you weren't taking any more birthday recordings. My mistake.

In any case, I uploaded a file for the interview and my name file.

I'd better check...did I put the wrong date in the post just above? (wouldn't put it past me  .)

Starlite is taking birthday recordings until tomorrow (July 22nd) so there's no problem there.

I will check the uploader.

Thanks :)

Both my interview response (interview_ceastman.wav) and the birthday greeting - with name (birthday_ceastman.wav) are in the uploader. Let me know if there's too much background noise; it's dratted hot here, and the computers' fans are going full blast.

Thank you, Catharine. I just noticed the interview in the uploader and grabbed it. :)

I can relate to it being too hot and fans, so I'm sure I can work with what you sent. :D

I think we need a new Librivox Disclaimer: "recordings made by Californian Librivoxers between the months of May and September may have an unusually high amount of fan noise" :P

~MeltingMaddie, who has already had to take 2 cool showers in the last 12 hours :( I was all excited when I heard there was a chance of rain this morning...but no luck :( Even warm summer rain would be preferable to incessant over- 100 degree weather

I got a new idea! To add to bloopers:

very brief snippets of technically spoilt recording -- such as what Gesine posted for Odd_Bloke's great but unusable reading. Bits so distant or hissy or so on that they had to be replaced. At this point, we'll be lucky to get even a few.

Anybody have some technically preposterous stuff -- of your own or from someone we can get permission to use?

You'll have to get permission, but the recording discussed here
likely fills your bill: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2910

Sorry Anita, I have closed submisions for the bloopers. I need to start getting files to our sound guru asap to alow time for him to work on them.

My interview here

I chose not to do a name. Not sure why, just personal preference.

Yup, that's precisely the one I'd had in mind.
Time for ideas to go down into notes for future projects and time to pitch in with ... whatever is helpful.
I'll check with Maddie. :)
