I think my two favourites of theirs are "The Bedstead Men" and "The Slow Train", the rather sad, wistful one listing the railways stations that had just been destroyed by the economy-minded, anti-social government of the time.

... and, from The Bedstead Men, (EDIT I didn't remember it very clearly, so I've copied the exact wording of these lines:)
You will always find a single laceless, left-hand leather boot.
A bootless British river bank's a shock.
We leave them there at midnight, you can track a member's route,
By the alternating prints of boot and sock.
