I recently listened to your recording of the first chapters of Treasure Island. The beginning part of the narrative I thought presented quiet and reserved. But when the characters began to speak, you brought them alive in a way I have rarely heard. By the end of the second chapter, I realized you had my full attention and would have happily listened to the whole book in one day. I shall explore Librivox for your other readings. It is a lot to ask, but if you ever read more of Treasure Island, I shall, no doubt, find the magic again.

http://librivox.org/incidents-in-the-life-of-a-slave-girl-by-harriet-jacobs/I just finished listening to Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl read by Elizabeth Klett. I can't say I enjoyed the book because the subject is so painful, but the reading by Ms. Klett was fantastic. The clear, matter-of-fact tone was perfect for this book. I will try some of her other books because I enjoy listening to her voice.
By the way, I found this book, which I otherwise would probably never heard of, by listening to an old Recent Books Podcast. I am sure they take a lot of work to put together and they have been discontinued, but they were a great way to find something that you might never think of just browsing titles.
My great thanks to Elizabeth Klett.

Some Experiences of an Irish RM is one of my favourite books that one of the few that I have read more than once and will read again in the future. Therefore it was a treat to have it as a talking book. It was so important that the reader was right for the story and you were just perfect and added to my enjoyment of the story immensely! I have finished it today and was sorry to come to the end!
Thank you

He brings the story to life and uses a different voice for each charecter. i think he is better than most professional actor readers.
Thanks Mark

http://librivox.org/wuthering-heights-by-emily-bronte-2/Just wanted to let you know how Very much I'm enjoying listening to your reading of Wuthering Heights. Your portrayal of the different characters is terrific and each one sounds like I think they would in real life. I listen to the chapters many times and have not as yet listened to the whole book. I'm not looking forward to finishing it.
Thank you, thank you and Bravo!

Praise for Roger (Roger Melin) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
I would like to thank Roger for his reading of Fathers and Sons (http://librivox.org/fathers-and-sons-by-ivan-turgenev/). I downloaded it to assist me in my studies last year. I enjoyed your reading style – slow, measured and very clear. It suited the book which I really enjoyed. I’m a mature aged student studying part-time so being able to enjoy these books on my walk to and from work is a great help to me.
Thanks very much

Praise for martinc (Martin Clifton) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
I would like to send a thank you to Martin Clifton for his reading of the Vicar of Wakefield (http://librivox.org/the-vicar-of-wakefield-by-oliver-goldsmith/). Such a charming book (though it got a bit out of control at the end for me). You read it beautifully. You sounded just like I would imagine the Vicar of Wakefield to sound like. I’m studying 18th Century literature at the moment and your audio of this book was of great assistance to me.
Thanks
Karen
