ha! Just finished my first atempt at editing! The short story should be up for proof listening soon.

I overdid the noise reduction filter a tad.

I kept it low, but I guess I'll have to keep the noise removal at the lowest level possible next time.

are there any general tips for noise removal?

hehe... yes, the best tip for noise removal is: "Don't use it!" ;)

the noise removal feature in Audacity doesn't do a very good job and leaves a metallic swirly sound in the background that is usually worse than the original background noise.
