Having just said that, I looked at the "internal" stats, and it says 7991

. Perhaps the total on http://librivox.org/ only updates daily.

It might be a little while. IA tweeted about 2 hours ago, "Issues at a data center have caused us to temporarily suspend uploads & updates. We're working on it - don't worry, all the data is safe!"
